So now, the WSJ tells us, President Clinton has decided that he’ll ‘fess up on the identity of donors to his foundation and library, and that he’ll “submit future business and charitable dealings to strict ethics reviews if his wife become Secretary of State.” This, after several media outlets have reported over the last few days that President Clinton seems to be having a devil of a time getting such information together for vetting by the Obama transition team.
Just for fun, let’s say that Sen. Clinton rather than Sen. Obama had been the Democratic nominee, and that she had beaten McCain in the general election.
Does anybody else get the feeling that President Clinton wouldn’t be submitting anything to vetting by anybody? That the husband of the President would be able to get away with more subterfuge than the husband of the Secretary of State? Interesting to ponder.
